What he is saying there is that he believes in the LABOR THEORY of VALUE - which is pretty meaningful if you think about it. (Preferring Marx to Smith was just as radical then as it is today. And yes, "Das Kapital" had not been published, but the Labor Theory of Value was around long before that book was written.

That's the point I was trying to make in that battlefield of a thread that you are referring to.
