Maybe had low expectations from the start and are delighted to see them validated. It can be rewarding to find some kind of confirmation for having been "right" from the start.
The other preconceptions come in having mistaken expectations. The sense of betrayal leads to extreme reactions.
I think many people are invested in being "right" about Obama after having made a decision based on an assessment of the health reform bill.
