I'm sure there was nary a peep about him being a black man throughout the whole proceeding. I'm sure they were all nicely behaved and smartly dressed throughout the court proceedings.

But I'm not so polite... would they have done the same or similar to a white defendant? History is not in their favor in Louisiana. And $100 in a non-violent crime is not worth 15 years. What sort of dementia could possibly make someone think it is? The absurdity of this sentence underlines the injustice done to Mr. Brown. Yet another judge has proven that they lack what we pay them for - good judgment.
