I wish I could help. I worked so hard to get Obama elected and later worked at pressuring Congress and the Senate to do the right thing. There are MILLIONS of us in similar situations.
It didn't have to be this way. Our own Democrats, when we had the majority, let us down.
Can your sister apply to get on Medicaid, since she is unemployed?
It is sad and all too obvious that not a one of several prolific DUers who spend vigorously defend the Affordable Care Act and pretend it's a good thing have posted on this thread suggesting any ideas which might help.
