I'm listening to a
live feed of the emergency services in Joplin, Missouri and I found myself tearing up as I read between the lines of their chatter. There are some serious injuries I'm hearing coming over the radio tonight. I hope the injured can be helped as quickly as possible.
As I listen to the different voices of the emergency services personnel sometimes shouting over the weather, sometimes audibly winded as they run on foot from one place to another, sometimes bargaining with dispatch for a helicopter (despite the terrible weather conditions) to get out an injured person...as I listen to all of that I am overwhelmed with a sense of pride in the job I can hear them doing to help reduce the damage from this disaster.
If you work or volunteer in emergency services of any sort, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
It's one job that
won't get outsourced and there are some incredible Americans putting their all into saving lives as darkness falls, tonight.
