Maria is not an idiot, nor a head in the sand kinda gal from anything I've seen. Arnold was a womanizer before, he was known to be a womanizer during, and I would find it hard to believe she wasn't aware and/or strongly suspicious for quite some time. I feel certain, okay I hope for certain, she was smart enough to protect herself by demanding he use protections or by withholding sex altogether.
