Martin Bashir MSNBC pays homage to Dominionist Xtain David Wilkerson WTF?

"Let me begin by saying that I speak from personal experience when it comes to Wilkerson. An encounter with him was my closest brush with being sucked into the bible-based cult of Dominionism. I was 15 years old and my mother (already a converted believer in Dominionist Theology) coordinated with friends and had their kids invite me to an event at the Ketchikan High School Auditorium in Ketchikan, Alaska in the early 1970s.

The place was packed with a sizable portion of the youths from this very small Southeast community of Alaska, all there to see Wilkerson as he toured through Alaska promoting his book, “The Cross & the Switchblade”. I sat there stunned as I watched kids I had grown up around in this small remote community transform into these writhing, moaning and babbling converts. It was so disturbing it made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I was even more blown away when I saw my own brother and sister agree to “come forward” as they joined others on the stage where Wilkerson arrogantly took on the role of a Messiah, anointing them as “saved”.

What a travelling snake oil Show! Having witnessed enough nonsense I got up and left before the end. In the years since, I have seen most of those who were “raptured” in the moment of that Revival come to their senses – many soon after. But I can tell you that many remained bound by the doctrine of this bible-based cult. One is even the leader of Lighthouse Ministries in Southeast Alaska now."

"I can assure you that’s the last time I view Bashir’s program on MSNBC. He either doesn’t do his research, or he is complicit with the Christian Dominionists – neither makes him credible to those of us who understand the dangers of this cult and how NOT a part of mainline Christianity they are."
