JFK

MLK

RFK

JBJ

OBL

KSM

WJC

the EverMoron single initial that is Dubya

HRC

. . . and the latest . . . .

DSK for the head of the IMF, now in the clink on sexual assault and rape charges.

What does it save to reduce these people to initials? It isn't as if we're getting our news on the old Arpanet, or even texting on a 9 button keypad.

I think it is laziness and, worse. It is a part - albeit minor - of the morphing of news and entertainment. Back in the 60s, JFK was such an unusual way to refer to a president, it wasn't nearly so trivial. Over the years it has gotten, in my view, completely out of hand.
