another student had taken the flag from a local war/veterans memorial and burned it early in the morning and caused some damage. He was arrested.
School population got angry about the flag desecration and this secondary guy went to the local area for free speech to show that it was still within his rights to burn the flag even if others were angry about it.
That is the jist of the story I heard...a
