then we need to switch to smaller (yet), lighter, electric cars.

It is coming. The Volt is out there, and there are other prototypes being developed.

But we need a program that really encourages people to invest in solar panels on their homes and produce their own electricity.

Can you imagine how much electricity we could produce in Southern California with solar panels?

And in rainier areas, wind power should be better used. We could probably use our water/dam power more efficiently too.
