But I have to respectfully disagree that 9/11 was a natural consequence of anything; or, more accurately, that an attack which targeted civilians was a natural response for one who had issues with American policy. I know we're not really arguing about that, and I get what you're saying, but I also think it's important, in addition to recognizing the history of the cycle of violence, to particularly single out for condemnation acts that target the most innocent of the innocent. Even in war -or I guess I should say, especially in war.

I can't argue with the ultimate goal you desire, though, and I hope someday we'll be able to beat our swords into plowshares.
