53. I concur.
I didn't hear the NPR story, but from the hundreds that we've all heard for the past 10 years, I totally agree with your assessment.

I believe he had to be killed. As long as there was breath in his body, he would have presented a future danger. Even if he was locked up forever with no chance of escape, I think I would always have worried that he was sending signals to cohorts, etc.
