10. Bin Laden may have been a terrorist fanatic whose life was not worth
that of any of those who went in after him, yet still, taking him alive would be far preferable to making him a martyr.

A dead martyr is easy for the crazies to emulate. A convicted criminal sitting forgotten in a 6x8 cell for twenty or thirty years does not make for a good martyr.

A martyr encourages his followers. A convicted felon discourages his followers. It makes it very clear that he was NOT so fucking special after all.
