For the census. Nobody deserves credit for that. Likewise, the recession is bound to end sooner or later, which by definition means more jobs.

So Clinton doesn't deserve credit for creation jobs and leaving a surplus and Bush isn't responsible for squandering it, adding trillions to the debt and triggering the worst economic crisis in more than seven decades?

He deserves SOME credit. I never said nobody deserves credit for effective, appropriate economic policies. To quote myself with emphasis added:

"No one party ever deserves all of the blame or all of the credit for any large economic trend"

I stand by my comment.
