Harman goes negative on Winograd
Advertisements [?]
California Rep. Jane Harman is on television with an attack ad accusing her Democratic primary challenger, Marcy Winograd, of living in an ideological "bubble" and holding anti-Israel views.

With California's June 8 primary rapidly approaching, the 30-second spot charges that Winograd wants to "kill the defense budget," and highlights remarks made by Democratic Rep. Henry Waxman stating that "in Marcy Winograd's vision, Israel would cease to exist." The ad began running Thursday.

Harman consultant Harvey Englander declined to provide information about the size of the ad buy, but said the negative spot and two other ads would run on cable and FIOS throughout the district. Harman dispatched a challenge from Winograd earlier this year at the California Democratic Party's convention, but the decision to go negative against an underfunded opponent shows Harman still considers Winograd a threat.

Winograd fired back against the ad in a statement, needling Harman for refusing to debate her and charging Harman's campaign with using "misinformation."
