ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Democrat Mark Dayton has landed the United Steelworkers endorsement in the race for governor.
Dayton is seeking the party's nomination in an August primary; the former senator's main rivals are House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher and former House Minority Leader Matt Entenza.
The Steelworkers union has 21,000 active and retired members in Minnesota. Its endorsement was announced Wednesday.
Organized labor has split its endorsements in the race, mostly between Kelliher and Dayton.
Republican Tom Emmer has the edge for his party's nomination.
