10. Yeah, that stunt still gets pulled a lot.
"Palestinians are lesser people, and shouldn't be allowed to defend themselves"
"Israelis are lesser people, and shouldn't be allowed to defend themselves"
"Native Americans are lesser people, and shouldn't be allowed to defend themselves"
"American settlers are lesser people, and shouldn't be allowed to defend themselves"
"Hutus are lesser people, and shouldn't be allowed to defend themselves"
"Tutsis are lesser people, and shouldn't be allowed to defend themselves"
"Muslims are lesser people, and shouldn't be allowed to defend themselves"
"Hindus are lesser people, and shouldn't be allowed to defend themselves"
"Christians are lesser people, and shouldn't be allowed to defend themselves"

Part of what makes the I/P situations (there are at least two, in two places) so complex, I think, is that the lessons were never learned as being *universal*. Much of the thinking that still dominates territorial conflicts is one of entitlement.
