262. If only EVERYone on this thread had your level of tact and class...
Nothing wrong with expressing disappointment or disagreement, even on a thread like this, when it's handled with tact and class as you have done.

So, thanks for that, OMC, and thanks Skinner for your eloquent expression of a very pervasive sentiment here amongst us proles.

Cindy has shown tremendous courage and truly fought the good fight. Even in the various cases where some of us perhaps feel we would've handled things differently, I think very few of us DU'ers ever lost sight of the fact that her heart has been in the right place, she has acted primarily out of love for her son and indeed, every mother's sons and daughters.

What she's accomplished over the past few years may well turn out to have saved a good many lives, so I can't help but feel losing her leadership may ... well ... end up costing some lives.

I for one hope she reconsiders her relinquishment of her leadership role, at least, regardless of whether or not she tows the (growing ever thinner) 'party line'. She has been a true leader at a time when true leaders have been few and far between, and I don't see anybody out there that can fill her shoes.

Last weeks disappointments, including losing Cindy's leadership, REALLY makes me hope that Al Gore will jump into the race and come out swinging for the fences like he has nothing to lose. We are going to need to see a great, inspiring Democrat to step up and LEAD this Nation (and this party, especially) out of this darkness FAST, or I fear we could end up fractured beyond repair (at least in the immediate future, which happens to be a VERY IMPORTANT timeframe...).

Cindy whichever role you choose for yourself in the future, thanks for your contributions up to this point. Sorry you've went thru so much pain. Peace be with you and yours.
