My widowed mother lives in Clermont, just outside your district, and is trying to deal with Bank of America over her mortgage loan modification. She applied August of last year, was approved for the trial period and has made every payment on-time for the last nine months. Now, it seems that BofA is funneling her into foreclosure. She has been denied three times based on bogus information (last time they said she didn't live in the home although she signed for a certified letter from the bank), they are simply trying different reasons until one sticks or she gives up. Each time, she spent hours on the phone and fax machine correcting their mistakes and reapplying. She recently received a letter from a different department of BofA stating that she owes them $4600 (with no explanation/itemization of fees/charges) or they will accelerate foreclosure proceedings. I know she needs a lawyer and we're looking into finding a non-profit firm that can help. In my quick web searches, I've found that this is happening to others...

Do you have any suggestions for her?
Do you know how much "assistance" the welfare queen banks are receiving from the government for loan modifications vs. foreclosures?

Also, I do believe that BofA announced today that they will resume the 100,000 foreclosures in their backlog...
