And by 1953 the military was fully integrated. This in spite of the fact the both the military and Congress were against it. Polls showed the military opposed it by over 80% and yet it was done. A Philip Randolph and others made it clear that if the Dems wanted the black vote they needed to get it done, but I think the old man from Missouri just made up his mind to do the right thing. Let's see if the DINO in the White house has the same courage.
