25. I've seen too many friends struggle against nicotine and fail
to pooh-pooh any transition to a less toxic nicotine delivery system. Kudos to you for being smart enough to use the patches on long airline flights and in other situations when you can't smoke. I wish more people would realize they're available, traveling by air would be a lot more civil.

E cigs are a definite improvement over inhaling the smoke from tobacco leaves laced with gawd knows what. I'm sure you know the nicotine still has terribly destructive effects on your body, so I'll skip the lecture. The vapor is still less noxious than the burning leaves. Just be aware that the steam you're exhaling still contains nicotine, so be sensitive about doing it in crowds of nonsmokers. It doesn't stink like smoke does, but it's still toxic.

Eventually, you might be able to progress to being a nonsmoker. However, if this is the best you can do about a severe nicotine addiction, it's still a great improvement. Good luck with it.
