27. Very sorry to say ...
... we have a President with no vision and a Congress with no guts.

The sad truth is that the liberal/progressive base is so discouraged and unmotivated right now that the odds are increasing that the Repuglicans will take both houses of Congress.

So, the polls may still actually show Democrats doing better (even while they are behind) than they will in November because a critical percentage of the base will just stay home.

The discontent I hear coming out of the mouths of my Democratic and progressive colleagues is becoming palpable. I think that will mean that the less than zealous or routine Democratic voters may just not feel the urgency to cast a ballot this fall.

I am increasingly pessimistic as I see Obama do things like the nuance on the mosque issue; when I see Reid be his usual spineless self; when I see corporate Democrats win primaries (Colorado, Arkansas); when I think of the Shirley Sherrod embarrassment; so on and so forth ... we all know the many areas of disappointment.
