14. yes and no to that...remember, the boycott of AZ by professional sports b/c of MLK holiday issue

was instrumental in getting the legislature to revisit the decision.

the public shaming worked pretty well, but worked even better was shunning by pro sports in sports crazy Arizona.

if i recall, they only got the Super Bowl after the state made MLK a paid holiday in the early/mid nineties.

although i got MLK as a paid holiday at University of Arizona, i noticed we were open on Presidents' Day.
