It's very hard to sue a reporter if you're a public figure. You have to prove knowing malice with intent to harm the public figure. In the case of Sherrod, that may be possible. Did Breitbart have the competence to know the difference between a distortion and an accurate portrayal of Sherrod's speech? Without a doubt. No problem. Did he have the intention formed to lie about her position to cause her harm? I don't know how that's established in these trials but it's fair to assume that to be the case. If a decent law firm takes up Sherrod's case, that's a signal that they think they have the goods. Brietbart better stay low, like below the border;) Belize maybe.
