Reply #8: The problem is that we're doing two different things at the same time

We have a global economy, and regional governments. Even a smaller picture like that of the US is an example of the same thing. We have a national economy, but we still have 50 states. It's a pretty inefficient way of doing things. We're either all in this together, or we're on our own. We really have to pick one or the other.

However, we end up trying to mix the two, because we think we can have the best of both worlds. We think we can have some grand collective goal for humanity, while at the same time everyone shouldn't be dependent on anyone else for anything and should be allowed to follow their own dreams to whatever goal they wish to find.
