19. Well it sure beats getting out there
and trying to make a difference in your part of the world.

Why do DUers think that if they can't change things on the national or global stage, they can do nothing? And as to action, yeah voting's great and protests can be lots of fun but if you want to actually DO something, there are more effective things to add to that list of activities. Find your local Dem party and get involved. If that's not happening find a local candidate and help them. The tedious work involved in campaigns require many hands. Mailings, fundraising events, door-to-door for the candidate, there is no end to what needs to be done.

While this sort of thing doesn't make the evening news or even the conversation at DU, it actually puts some truth to when you tell your kids "I tried to make a difference."
