183. Why is the defense of certain breeds so important to people?
I can understand the idea of defending a species from extinction, but dog breeds are just man-engineered sub species. Honestly, what's the big deal, unless you've dedicated your life to propagating a particular breed?

People hate to think of their pets being rounded up and put to death, but obviously there would be no need for this if we decided that a particular breed needed to be retired. All you would have to do is demand that all dogs of that breed be neutered.
