the life of a millionaire celebrity is usually so far removed from that of your average Joe Six pack, that the regular folks tend to resent it when the rich act as if their experiences are the same as their's. I don't know anything about the way Crow lives; she may be a shining example of earth friendly living, but the average working class American who isn't as strongly political as those of us who post here, is going to be rightly skeptical.
