Gay Marriage and the Supreme Court

I'd like to ask my fellow DUers who are more knowledgeable about law than myself a couple of questions.

Issue: Supreme Court has to rule on Gay Marriage.

-Are there any legal arguments to deny gay marriage?

-What are solid legal arguments in favor of allowing gay marriage?

I'm pretty sure that it'll reach SCOTUS some day, and I'm curious about some possibilities. I know these are two very broad questions, but I didn't know where else to start.

Thanks a bunch! After venting yesterday, I'm ready to arm myself with some knowledge. :fistbump:
