"Bigotry" aside & in no way excusing his actions but I really feel sorry for anybody born into that particular religion and it really does have a lot of people at the breaking point, not necessarily violent breaking point but the amount of anti-depressants taken to keep up that "perfect mormon smile" that indicates you are living as a LDS is really heartbreaking. I saw this play "Confessions of a Mormon Boy" about a gay LDS and what he went through in the church trying to get "fixed" by various crazy ways (being made to watch football and make scripted sports comments with other gay LDS!)
