You see, the horses are being slaughtered either by folks who are eating it themselves or who are selling it. Reports are that for those who have some its actually quite valuable, some folks pay very good money to have horse to eat. Now if someone is paying lots for it you can bet the farm that its not going to accidentally find its way into your cut-rate hamburger mix at the local grocery.
