Man agreed to pay alimony to his ex -- but not to the man she became. Now what?

A fairly new trail is being blazed in legal circles, thanks to the miracle of modern medicine. This guy married a woman, whom he divorced. Then she became a he, and now he's saying he shouldn't have to keep paying her -- er, him -- alimony.
