Proposing a new word: "Obama'd"...

I'm starting this thread per a suggestion here.

Obama'd, adverb.

To make a person's point seem valuable when it is in fact not, and then expose that person when they reveal their true intent, using the goodwill gained from a willingness to compromise with that person against them when needed most.

To obtain victory over an individual by leading them to focus on a singular goal that may be superficial, while operating behind the scenes on another level to ensure victory in the long term.

Example:

President Obama met with Republican leaders after taking office, seeking compromises to ensure passage of an important stimulus bill. After a week of the President offering compromises that House Republicans asked for in return for voting for the bill's passage, they still voted unanimously against it. Most of the public has seen footage of President Obama extending an olive branch to Republicans in order to get them to agree to help America and stop the next Great Depression. In the end the Republicans threw that olive branch back in the President's face. Obama already had the votes necessary to pass the bill regardless, and indeed the bill passed anyway. But now everyone will remember how Obama reached across the aisle while the Republicans lied about their intent.

When the next important bill comes up, President Obama can approach the public at the first sign of Republican dissent, and remind them of his bipartisanship. As a result, the Republicans got Obama'd.
