But a lot of OTHER people were buying lots of Civics and Priuses and Accords and Camrys and so on, and with rising oil prices, Peak Oil, and many other reasons, the Big 3 kept their heads in the sand for the last 35 years while change was a 'comin'. So the fault lies with both the public AND the American auto makers.
