his aunt and uncle were at dinner with us, along with mr. ld's parents. All of the above are far-right wing fundies. We are not. Anyway, mr. ld's aunt asked me half-way through dinner what I thought of Sarah Palin, to which I replied, 'I think she is absolutely frightening with her beliefs, and far too close to the presidency for me'. His aunt was quite taken aback and stated that she just LOVED Sarah Palin. Then she questioned me about Obama: 'Had I ever read Revelations?' 'yes', I replied. 'Had I ever STUDIED Revelations?' 'yes', I replied. Then she stated, 'Then you should know that Obama is the Anti-Christ'. I was absolutely stunned, and ripped her a new one. Mr. ld's uncle then stated that he had heard from Obama's own mouth that he was a muslim. Mr. ld quickly corrected him on that one, and I told the uncle that the uncle was lying. The dinner degenerated from there.

needless to say, I don't think his aunt will ever again engage me in a political discussion.
