10. "mistakes made" "enhanced interrogation technique" "misspoke"
let the lie stand (*even cast doubt that a lie is a lie) and claim it's not your job to correct it...but rather it's up to the viewers..to decide what is fact and what is ficiton...then claim these same intentionally misinformed voters determine the "truth"

"no one could have anticipated"

"non-traditional hijacking"

"Iraq ....911"

pick any catch-phrase lie over the last 8 years.....recall how the press treated it.....they let the lie stand over and over again.

*by claiming a lie is "alleged" doubt is cast...makes it sound as if the lie has not been documented when it so clearly has...in doing so, Schieffer is giving the lie legitimacy...making it sound as if maybe it wasn't a lie....which feeds the lie.

for a history enshrined in holding the government accountable with the cries of a "free press" - a rally cry those in the press like to hide behind when it's convenient...the press is little more than bought and paid for by the same corrupt institutions their history claims to guard against

not everyone in the press/news industry....but far too many
