34. On my annual visits to Dublin and Belfast, I found the Irish furious at Bush
and his administration and all Americans who were stupid enough to vote for him not once, but twice. I'm talking everyone from the bartenders and taxi drivers to a boat captain and several Irish Senators. They also spoke very highly of Bill Clinton and did not make jokes about him. They found it obscene that any political leader would be persecuted because of a brief fling. The Irish, like Europeans in general, are extremely well-informed on the US political scene. They were dead serious about the damage done by the US under Bush and to the US's standing re international influence and leadership. American Irish who find this presidential race something to joke about are probably the same clueless crew who got all teary-eyed and drunk while singing Danny Boy and contributing to smuggling weapons to the IRA, thereby furthering terrorism. The real Irish people, in both Ireland and Northern Ireland, never saw any humor in that situation either.

I have a sense of humor, but not about the upcoming election and the issues at stake.

This particular email was certainly not as bad as much of the racist crap being spammed, but it is typically sent by the same people who send the very worst smears of Dems and Obama. And of course, those spammers NEVER send any thoughtful, serious think pieces out which might help the undereducated American voter understand the basics about economics, health care, deficit spending, substandard VA care, etc.
