15. If you actually SAY "The C-Word" that makes YOU the bad guy. HOWEVER...
If you could bring up the subject without actually uttering the word, you are no longer being "obscene."

BAD: "Is it true you've called your wife a c_nt?"

BETTER: "How long has it been since the last time you called your wife 'The C-Word'?"

BETTER: "Do you still think your wife plasters on the makeup like a trollop, and do you still call her 'The C-word'?"

BETTER: "Do you have any cute pet names for your wife, other than the "The C-word" that we already know about?"

Now, we also have to consider the possibility that McCain has compiled a list of prepared rebuttals incorporating various benign C-Words:

"Yes, I admit, I have called my wife CUTE."

"My friend, I'm not afraid to use 'The C-Word.' My wife, myself, and everyone else in this room is in fact PROUD to be a CONSERVATIVE."

Although I hope McCain slips-up and says something like, "My friends, we only have seven days to the election. I hope that me and Cindy SEE YOU NEXT TUESDAY at the polls!"
