Giving these dire matters more attention brings more people up to speed, increases chances of greater organization/preparedness, and equally important, it allows people who feel isolated in their {correct} perceptions to not feel as though they're alone in their comprehension. One wary individual within a large group of unwary people will naturally be made to feel somehow inferior, or out of step, even though their view may be dead on while the majority is dead wrong in their denial. It's really a matter concerning problems of access and marginalization for those with unconventional views ... so I tend not to agree with your assessment of general public apathy re reaction to injustice and govt tyranny as being due to a lack of a indigenous majority.
