29. Quit using the troops personally
We've got to do it, too. We've let the right wingers frame that.

The troops are extensions of us. They are doing our national bidding. We have to take responsiblity for what they do, not lean on them as victims.

Both sides are equally guilty. It is just an attempt to move what we cannot intellectually handle to a personal level. Like saying, "gee, bow'd you feel if some guy raped your daughter?" Well, gee, I wouldn't be very objective, and I'd want to kill him. That's why we have a justice system. So I and my emotions taking over, overwhelming my reason, doesn't lead to the mistaken death or whoever I feel might be guilty who isn't.

Same thing here. The troops are killing people over there, not just "in harm's way." To others, they are the harm. And they are killing those people on our behalf. Because we claim to be in danger.
