15. The process has changed a lot over the years.
Back in '52 Ike resisted the draft movement for quite a long time. It wasn't until the day after the NH primaries in March (which showed Ike beat Taft 50% to 32%) that he declared he'd run.

I know the draft Gore movements have been working to at least get him on the ballot for the primaries.
