"The Heritage Council is presenting ethnics with as attractive an alternative as possible. It cranks out news releases for some 600 ethnic newspapers around the U.S. Whenever possible, the releases are in English. "We want to unite, we don't want to divide," says Laszlo Pasztor, the council director and a Hungarian freedom fighter who fled to the U.S. when the Soviets invaded in 1956."

Calling Pasztor a "freedom fighter" in 1972 but (see below)

Pasztor, who founded the Heritage Groups Council in 1969 with the
encouragement of Richard Nixon. It was Mr. Pasztor's job to select the
groups and leaders that formed the G.O.P.'s first permanent outreach to
ethnic America.

Mr. Pasztor worked as an embassy aide in Berlin for the militantly pro-Nazi
Arrow Cross government, which was installed in Hungary in 1944. (He has
since said that he regrets his involvement.)"

Thought this excerpt interesting - Don't forget Poland! (from the Time article)
