for example...I know a veteran who was on our ships that dropped depth charges on U-boats off the eastern US coast. He told me it was very common that when they scored a "hit", wrappers for American food (like bread) would float to the surface. The vet even told me the brand name of the bread that was most common. It was apparently quite common for German sympathsizers to run food out to the U-boats. Prescott Bush certainly, and sadly, had company.
