They are not at fault and should not be blamed, poor victims, for undermining the Democrats. Yet they are the "base" and we can't win without them. They are not fired up enough and have stayed home. So they made us pay. But they don't want any credit (or blame) for it. No they are not responsible. The Democrats who disappointed them are. That'll teach those Democrats! Now we have REAL Republicans (which are no worse, anyway).
Though IMO it is the independents and centrists being idiots with short attention spans that gets the Republicans in again.
