53. All companies put reserve cash into diversified portfolio.
BP has lots of spare cash.

The reality is they have about $5.4 billion in investments and $6.8 billion in cash.

However when I suggested yesterday that BP could "fill" the $20B escrow account a lot faster than $5B a year I down slammed for being anti-Obama. The $20B fund will allow BP to hang on to investment assets and slowly pay out claims. That is why Hayword looked happy and the stock is rallying.

Still there really is no point to kick this thread everyday.
All companies have investment assets and the companies on the list can't prevent BP from buying their shares. That is why we call them public companies.

Osama could buy shares in McDonalds. Should we then boycott McDonalds because it supports terrorists?
