He's what I call a militant atheist, in the literal sense. One of the reasons he supported the Iraq war is that he went nuts in the wake of 9/11 and doesn't seem to have a particular problem with eradicating entire populations based on their religion. I may be exaggerating there a bit, but just a little bit. Beyond all the intellectualizing, his fundamental problem reason for supporting military intervention in the Middle East amounts to actual, physical war on religion.

Anyway, I could rant for days, so I'll just stop.

I respect his intelligence, but I wouldn't want to have to sit in a room with him.
