It is very hard to read this... my heart goes out to you and one day... Perhaps.
I have run across this womans profile before. I try to remember as much as I can, but... tributes like yours are so important to remind the others of so many.
I understand how you feel. Truly I do. I have been searching for Faye Aline Self since March 31st 1983. She was 26 years old.
It was when Wanda Hudson, 20, was butchered two months later it was obvious we were chasing a serial killer. We have been chasing a killer since I was 9 years old. 27 years ago. In 4 days it will be 27 years to the day Wanda was found BUTCHERED. We did not know about Katherine "Fuzzy" Hayes until 23 years later.
And their killer, finally we understood why the cops here protected their killer... when we found out he was the son of one of them. He went on to kill again, and again, and again and again. His name is Robert Charles Browne. To this day he still has not been charged, even with 3 full confessions. The police here destroyed the cases against him. Colorado Springs Sherifs Department can confirm that... I am certain they would LOVE too.
We still have no answers, only more questions.. but.. I truly pray that if nothing else your friends remains will be brought home again. No one deserves to never come home again.
I won't give up... if you don't give up.
The Haunted River
Have you seen the ghost of Faye Aline? For twenty seven shes' wandered. Across the bridge, alone and unseen Except in dreams by the hundreds.
Only the night with a million eyes, Saw fate lay down her pretty head. Before the sorrow and all of the lies, She walked the banks of the Mighty Red.
Seasons passed and years did too, Gold bayous returned to green No one whispered what we knew, Except the ghost of Faye Aline.
The children who have looked for her, Are still haunted in their sleep. They all swear they see her there. Her justice theirs' to seek.
Have you seen the ghost of Faye Aline? Does she know that New Orleans fell? Was justice blind? Was she left behind? Does she watch from the levy swells?
Soft grey eyes, reflecting cries. Like moonlight ripples upon that river. Her 26 years was enough it appears. Even now to make some men shiver.
If you meet the ghost of Faye Aline, In the fog of the Mighty Red, Let her know that she is not unseen, Nor is her spirit dead.
