Reply #98: The BP folks should have been put under arrest or threat of arrest

immediately after it was discovered that they chose to fail to comply with safety measures and that deaths ensued.

They should have been charged with negligent homicide or manslaughter. And this should be a lesson to all CEOs who permit the kinds of violations of workplace safety rules that BP did. Let a jury decide whether what they did was a crime.

I feel terrible always asking that people be prosecuted on DU. I'm really not a vindictive person.

But I have watched arraignments in criminal courts too many mornings to accept the fact that some impoverished mother of five children gets sentenced and has her employment record ruined for shoplifting a gift for a loved one while murderers at the heads of governments and corporations walk away free.

This was no accident according to the facts that I have seen.

Where is equal justice for all in this country. Did that go the way of the American Dream of home ownership for those who work hard?
