19. It is beyond past time.
The oil has to be stopped.

However, so much time has gone by, that the oil already in thr Gulf and now the loop current will cause major damage. In addition, the dispersants are toxic, and there is no way to tell what harm they will do.

Too little. Too late.

The government should have yanked BP out of control and made sure vital personnel who could help weren't allowed to leave. All records of any types should have been maintained to try to understand what happened and what may happen.

Independent scientists and petroleum engineers plus people with deep water drilling experience should have been brought in. In regard to drilling, I'm not sure who could be found not associated with the oil industry somehow. However, people not related to BP could have been found.

BP is running this disaster from a business point of view. It should be run from a scientific and ecological point of view. Research should have been started immediately.

SHOULD HAVE...........the point when real action should have been taken that might have made a huge difference is long gone. If they don't act now after all the obvious shite BP has done, the effects will be magnified every day.

I can't bear to watch this unfold. The effects of it will be felt for decades.
