It was absolutely never, ever, ever going to get passed right out of the box. As one who has been for Single Payer for years, to think that there were enough votes to pass Single Payer right out of the box would have been foolish.
Yeah, again... I'm for Single Payer. So no knuckle-headed crap about "we need single payer now!" or whatever.
It's about votes. It's about Congress getting legislation out of committee and on the floor and so on.
The Frontline documentary focused on how the strategy was going to be to actually get some kind of major incremental change done with health care reform. It wasn't about how single payer is better than universal health care.
What people forget about Frontline and want to say it's all a corporate sellout and all that is that
Frontline DID DO A DOCUMENTARY on SINGLE PAYER and other types of health care internationally.
